This diverse blend not only attracts and nourishes bucks but also enhances soil health. Packed with several species of protein-rich legumes and brassicas, as well as nutrient-dense cereal grains, this mix is engineered to thrive from early season through the cold of winter and into spring when it’s time to plant a summer blend.  This blend can suppress weeds while providing high-quality. As a result, it attracts deer from the start of season and helps them be ready to produce antlers and fawns the next spring. 

Pro Tip: To attract and feed deer throughout the year, drill or broadcast the Summer Release blend into the Fall Release blend during the late spring.

This product is pre-inoculated with the Green Boost 2.0 Biology Package, so you can reduce your fertilizer usage. Green Boost 2.0 includes:

  • MycoGreen NPK is a dual inoculant containing ten functionally diverse mycorrhizal fungi and eight bacterial species.
  • Elevate'd Fungi is a seed applied inoculant derived from natural products designed to stimulate seed germination, increase root and biological biomass in the soil, and improve soil structure. 
  • RhizoBac X-Tend features high concentrations of multi-species nitrogen fixing rhizobia for peas, vetch, cowpeas, sunn hemp and soybeans. Additionally, free living nitrogen fixing and phosphorus solubilizing bacteria combine for a robust broad spectrum seed treatment for your cover crops.

    When is the right time to plant?

    Fall Release has a minimum germination temp of 40 °F. Reference your average soil temperature to determine ideal planting time.

    Crimson Clover, Fixation Balansa Clover, Berseem Clover, Winter Peas, Black Oats, Cereal Rye, Radish, Turnip, Buckwheat, and GreenBoost 2.0 Biology Package

    Planting Instructions

    Fall Release is best seeded using a no-till drill or other seeding device and placing seed at a depth of 1/4" to 1/2". It can also be broadcast into areas with minimal plant competition such as a new plot or one where a seedbed has recently been prepared. Light incorporation or dragging can help with seed to soil contact but don't cover seeds with more than 3/4” of soil.

    Timing

    Fall Release should be planted 6-8 weeks before the first average frost date during the fall and when there’s adequate soil moisture or a forecast of rain.

    Seeding Rate

    Plant 70 pounds per acre when seeding with a no-till drill or other planting implement and 100 pounds per acre when broadcasting.

    Excellent product

    This was my first time using Fall Release. I planted 2 acres (no till drill) in late September with adequate moisture. It germinate rated quickly and grew rapidly. Then we went a month without rain but the Fall Release took the dry weather in stride. Never started looking dry or like it was suffering. Deer are hammering this plot. I am very pleased with Fall Release and I plan to plant more acres of it next year.

    Germination is good

    I got good germination, but don’t get the boost in growth promised with the additives. We had an unprecedented amount of rain this year, so in low lying areas the plants drowned.

    Best Seed on the Market

    I recently turned my back two acres into one big ol food plot. I did my research and found that Green Cover offered the best seed and price for what I was trying to accomplish. I usually cut this field for hay but decided to terminate the grass with a herbicide and then do a no-till planting of the Fall Release Blend. I was very excited to see that only after 3 weeks I am seeing a crop full of different varieties come to life. The deer are already hitting it hard but it keeps on producing. Can’t wait to send some pics of how well this plot is doing. Thanks for making a great product
