    Our Game Bird Mix is designed to attract and hold dove, quail, pheasants, and turkey. This diverse mix offers everything game birds need to thrive. Flowering plants like Sunflowers, Buckwheat, and Mustard will attract insects for adults and chicks, while seed-producing plants like Mung Beans, Soybeans, and Flax provide enough feed your birds will never have to leave. Whether you’re attracting migrating ducks and dove or creating a haven for pheasants and quail, our variety of millets and sorghums will make a perfect shelter for thick cover and room to roam. If you want a mix that provides habitat, nutrition, and attracts North American game birds, this is the mix for you!

    Green Cover Seed was not able to source these seeds from organic production.  We certify that to the best of our knowledge these seeds are non-GMO and not treated with pesticides and that all coatings and inoculants are manufactured to organic standard

    This product is pre-inoculated with Elevate'd Fungi and Rhizo-Fixer Plus, to increase the biological activity in your soil. 
    • Elevate'd Fungi is a seed applied inoculant derived from natural products designed to stimulate seed germination, increase root and biological biomass in the soil, and improve soil structure. OMRI status has been applied for and is pending. 
    • Rhizo-Fixer Plus Inoculant contains multiple families of nitrogen-fixing rhizobia bacteria plus Azospirillum Brasiliense (free living N fixer) and two phosphorus-solubilizing bacteria, Pantoea Eucalypti and Pseudomonas Baetica. 
    Note these inoculants are NOT currently OMRI approved, however many of our certified organic customers have received approval to use these products. Please contact your certifier and refer to these documents before using this product on organic certified land.

        What's in the Mix

        When is the right time to plant?

        Game Bird Mix has a minimum germination temp of 60 °F. Reference your average soil temperature to determine ideal planting time.

        Ingredients

        Mung Beans, Sorghum, Japanese Millet, Foxtail Millet, Mustard, Radish, Sunflower, Buckwheat, Flax, Sesame, Baldy Safflower, Yellow Blossom Sweet Clover, Elevate'd Fungi Inoculant, and Rhizo-Fixer Plus Inoculant

        Planting Instructions

        Drill seed at 3/4" to 1" depth or broadcast and lightly incorporate when soil temperatures are 60 degrees or higher. Plant

        Timing

        Wait to plant until after the last frost and soil temperatures are above 60 degrees and rising. Planting of these mixes should be completed by midsummer.

        Seeding Rate

        Plant 25 pounds per acre when seeding with a no-till drill or other planting implement and 35 pounds per acre when broadcasting.
