One of the best strategies to tag a big buck is a Hidey Hole plot close to cover. Bucks seem very comfortable feeding in these small plots and when they are close to cover, bucks often feed there after daylight and before dark. This blend was designed exactly for this mission. It includes a planting rate of specific forage crops that will produce a lot of food and help control weeds.

This product is pre-inoculated with the Green Boost Biology Package, so you can reduce your fertilizer usage. Green Boost includes:

  • Elevate Ag's HyprGerm biological stimulant applied right on the seed. HyprGerm contains nutrients, hormones and enzymes from kelp extract, worm castings, chitosan, and humic acid for increased seed germination, plant vigor, root growth and soil biological stimulation.
  • MycoGreen NPK, a dual inoculant containing ten functionally diverse mycorrhizal fungi and eight bacterial species.
  • Rhizo-Fixer Plus Inoculant contains multiple families of nitrogen-fixing rhizobia bacteria plus Azospirillum Brasiliense (free living N fixer) and two phosphorus-solubilizing bacteria, Pantoea Eucalypti and Pseudomonas Baetica.

Please note, Rhizo-Fixer Plus Inoculant remains viable on the seed for 60-90 days. If you are not planning to plant within a 90-day window, we recommend ordering Micro Noc Inoculant and applying on the seed when you plant.

Planting Instructions

The seeds in this blend respond well to being broadcast into a plot with minimal plant competition, even areas with dead weeds from the previous year or crop. It can also be broadcast into an existing summer crop, but then it's best to terminate the summer stand shortly after planting. The dead vegetation will cover the seeds and conserve soil moisture. If a drill is used, only plant 1/4" to 1/2" deep.

Timing

The Hidey Hole blend should be planted 6-8 weeks before the first average frost date during the fall and when there’s adequate soil moisture or a forecast of rain.

Seeding Rate

Plant 94 pounds per acre when seeding with a no-till drill or other planting implement.
