The Annual Summer Honey Mix was developed in conjunction with the Nebraska Beekeepers Association. This annual honey mix is specially designed with annual species that will offer up copious amounts of nectar for honeybees during the entire season. Plant when ground temperatures reach 50-55°F from mid-April to late May in Zone 5 (earlier in Zone 6 and later in Zone 4). 1/8” planting depth is ideal, no deeper than 1/4” in planting depth. Can be drilled or broadcast seeded, but if broadcast double the suggested rate (indicated on seed mix packaging) is desirable. If overseeding without any site prep (i.e. tillage, chemical treatment, etc.) then 4 times the suggested rate is desired for quality seed coverage.
